He has a Technical Degree in Civil Engineering from Madrid’s Polytechnic University, specialising in Transportation and Urban
Services, and a Master’s Degree in Mobility and Road Safety from the same university.

Career path |
After beginning his professional career preparing cycling mobility studies and projects, he started to work in the railway sector
in
2012 with the Alstom rolling stock manufacturer. Between 2018 and 2022, he was in charge of mobility for the international
NGO
Greenpeace, leading several campaigns in Spain and Europe to promote rail as the preferred transport system in the fight
against climate change, and as a tool for social equity.
Adrián Fernández is also well known as a champion and promoter of sustainable mobility. He is the founder of the eco-mobility
website Ecomovilidad.net, he has published several technical articles and editorials, he has organised training courses on this
subject, and he frequently participates in congresses on transportation and the environment.
Since December 2022, he has been the Managing Director of the Spanish Railways Foundation, a public entity devoted to
promoting rail
awareness and usage by means of initiatives focused on citizen service.
